Bill’s start in the entertainment world was completely by chance. Working through high school at a resort that employed an entertainment service, he got his big break when the mascot, Super Speck, didn’t show up for work. Bill quickly expanded his entertainment skills by taking on the job of DJ, providing the music for the resort’s parties. Performing for groups of up to 3,000 provided the perfect training ground to master all types of music. Bill was a natural at mixing songs and presenting them correctly. Under the watchful eye and expertise of the future Las Vegas Mobile DJ and Entertainer lifetime achievement award-winner Johnny Rozz, Bill grew into one of the most sought-after mobile Connecticut DJs.
Upon graduating high school, Bill attended Quinnipiac College where he completed the Medical Technology program. More significantly, Bill became the DJ for the campus Rathskellar (a.k.a. student union) and was the number one choice for campus parties. The school administration recognized Bill’s talents and hired him for many school events including mixers, holiday dances, and commencement weekend events. On the weekends, Bill traveled across the northeast to DJ at other schools. Still working under Johnny Rozz, Bill put his college career on hold and followed his passion for the entertainment world by performing with Johnny across the United States until 1989.
In 1989, Bill decided to venture off on his own. Working out of his parent’s house, he started Local Motion Entertainment. Bill’s list of clients quickly grew because of the hard work that he had put in since high school and the need for a more professional space quickly arose. Bill collaborated with David Frost Photography and Memories By Michael Video and all three businesses moved into their first office in East Haven, Connecticut.
Bill’s excellent reputation, professionalism, and dedication to his DJ craft have helped him form great alliances with many reputable facilities throughout Connecticut, including Anthony’s Oceanview in New Haven, Woodwinds in Branford, The Country House in New Haven, Amarante’s Sea Cliff in New Haven, The Aqua Turf Club in Southington, The Stillwood Inn in Wallingford, and Fantasia in North Haven. Bill’s list of clients includes such notables as Marilu Henner (Taxi, Annie Get Your Gun), Julie Andrews (Mary Poppins), The Knights of Columbus (Supreme Council), Ikea New Haven, NFL coach Tony Sparano, Eastern Bag and Paper, and New York University’s School of Internal Medicine.
